UFC 91: Couture vs Lesnar

Sports, TV No Comments »

For all the UFC fans out there, here’s a real good one for you. The main event in UFC 91 was being touted as the best heavyweight fight in it’s long history. Couture vs Lesnar definitely had that potential, though I’m rather late in bringing the news out as the main event was held two days ago on November 15, 2008. The results are already out, but I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t watched it yet. The FULL download links for all the matches in UFC 91 can be found below. The Countdown for UFC 91 was also a great preview hyping up the event, and you can also download it from the link below.

Randy Couture, at 45 years of age, is undeniably the BEST fighter ever to come out of the UFC. And even at that disadvantage, he is still pounding the daylights out of opponents much younger than himself. But this time, he goes up against a totally different breed of fighter. The former WWE Superstar known as Brock Lesnar, a 31 year old MONSTER, is out to bring down the Legend.

There have always been many Couture doubters out there, and he is always the underdog whenever he goes up against much younger and bigger fighters. But in the end, he is STILL the one holding up the belt. So the main event in UFC 91 is going to be one for the books. As Dana White (President of the UFC) said in parting, “Everybody loves the guy who is the master in coming up with game plans to beat guys that he really shouldn’t beat. Now he is up against this young amazing athlete who walks around at 300 pounds but has the agility and speed of a 150 pounder and the power of a TRUE heavyweight.” So Randy Couture has his work cut out for him, but if history is any indication, he can’t ever be counted out. But look out for the coming of Brock Lesnar, as he is out to prove that he IS the REAL deal.

The 7th episode of House has the aftershock and denial of last week’s kiss between House and Cuddy written all over it. The case this week though, is about an agoraphobic man who needs to be treated really badly but refuses to leave his home due to his condition. So the team devised a plan to pretend that they will do the surgery at his home and then move him to the hospital when he goes under. Unfortunately, Cameron’s flaw gets the better of her and the plan goes haywire. Wilson is his usual hilarious self, while we see the more human side of House come out in this episode as he battles with his feelings for Cuddy.

In the 10th episode of Prison Break called “The Legend,” Bellick’s death sends a backlash across the entire team and surprisingly they all valued him like a true friend. Michael’s sickness worsens and he is forced to go to the hospital with Sara as he collapses in between planning the mission. Mahone looks for the architect of Scylla and is helped by an unexpected ally while Agent Self has an ace up his sleeve that you never saw coming :-) Gretchen seems to be keeping her word too, so let’s see…

The episode is still so-so, as I expected it to dramatically pick up especially after the last one. The last four episodes are coming up in the next month and probably the last in this series too. Prison Break Season 4 Episode 9: Greatness Achieved

TV No Comments »

Finally a really decent episode of Prison Break. In the 9th episode called “Greatness Achieved,” there are two more deaths and it seems we are getting closer to the final curtain call for this series. This is probably one of the more memorable episodes for many reasons, and you’ll have to watch it to find out!

Mahone FINALLY gets his hands on Wyatt and the sheer anger he has brings him to do the worse he can on the man who murdered his son. The way he did it is a joy to watch as Wyatt has made himself so hated. And it felt really good to see him on the other side of the coin for a change as the one being pounced on.

Another member of the team dies, but rather valiantly this time, to be able to save the mission and finally bring down the Company. Your guess is as good as mine as to who that person is. There are also two other instances to take a note of. One is how Michaels sickness has taken its toll on him, just like it did with his mother at the same age he’s in now. And Gretchen has finally met face to face with the General, who she apparently has a lot of history with. A rather, distasteful history I might add, and the conflict (jealousy) between the two girls in the General’s team (Gretchen and Lisa) seem to be a foreboding of the eventual cause of the Company’s downfall.

House Season 5 Episode 6: Joy

TV No Comments »

In this weeks episode called “Joy,” a rather peculiar case of a middle-aged man suffering from blackouts and sleepwalking is admitted to the hospital. He is fully awake and actually does normal daily routines but is actually sleepwalking through it. The mystery as to why this is so is profound, but the nonchalant deadpan mood he and his daughter have, say something else…

Cuddy, on the other hand, finally gets to adopt a baby but her dreams of finally getting one look like they are slipping by as the mother’s prior drug use damages the baby’s lungs. The situation forces Cuddy to choose between delivering the baby early and endangering its life, or waiting but putting the mother’s life at risk. House is the usual devil’s advocate here, and makes Cuddy’s situation even more miserable than it already is. A rather expected outcome from the adoption situation, but we all find out why House has been acting like such a jerk in the end. The latest episode of Heroes can also be downloaded below.

House Season 5 Episode 5: Lucky Thirteen

TV No Comments »

Thirteen.. ThirteenLucky Thirteen. From the first time I laid my eyes on Olivia Wilde, who plays the role of the only girl in House’s team, I knew for sure they would put her in an episode where she would be portraying the role of a bisexual, hehe. First off, she’s HOT in House, and in real life I think she IS lesbian. Second, she’s HOT in House, period! And thanks to Lesbian Week in the US, it’s quite a good excuse to show an episode like this :-)

The 5th episode starts off with a hot, but rather short, make-out scene between Thirteen and another girl, the kind of scene you practically NEVER see on TV these days. And if it is the ploy of the producers to lure new viewers to watch more of House… I’m sure it has already done wonders :-) The situation of Thirteen having her days numbered because of Huntington’s is a good twist though, and it would be fairly interesting to see how everything pans out in the end. Besides trying to figure out what is causing Thirteen’s lover to have these seizures, the episode is all about her and how destructive her lifestyle has become since she found out she had the disease.

The ending for “Lucky Thirteen” was pretty good too, double-edged, and a definite must-watch for House fans. There is also a BONUS link below on a Fox interview with Cuddy and Wilson, and it’s very funny. Wilson is one funny guy :-)

Prison Break Season 4 Episode 8: The Price

TV No Comments »

After a week off, Prison Break is back with its 8th episode called “The Price.” There is one last card key to find and the General has it. As easy as the plan seems to be to get the card, it ends very badly as a team member is shot in the process. Just like the past seasons, betrayal is the name of the game and with such an act comes inevitable death, hehe. One of the team members chooses to give away the location of the hide out for money, and ends up dead in the end.

Gretchen
seems poised to make amends with Sarah just so they could be allies in the hopes of bringing down the Company. Her methods are quite peculiar though, and you could see from this episode how tragically jaded she is. Sarah is also very wary of what was done to her and chooses not to play into Gretchen’s games.

And finally, Mahone gets his hands on Wyatt, and tries to beat the living hell out of him. It will be exciting to see how the next episode pans out, as the search for the last key card seems impossible with the General now aware of their plan, and with Mahone finally getting a hold of Wyatt. The 6th episode of Heroes can also be found below, both in HDTV and 720p download options. Enjoy!
